Boeing’s defense head to retire, global services head to take over

March 28 (Reuters) – Boeing Co (BA.N) said on Monday the head of its massive protection division, Leanne Caret, will retire after approximately 35 decades with the aviation corporation.

Caret, who is 55 yrs outdated, will be succeeded by Ted Colbert efficient April 1.

Caret oversaw improvement of the thriving MQ-25 drone system and the U.S. Air Force’s new education jet. She was also in charge of the KC-46 midair tanker, which has been plagued by various challenges and cost overruns.

Boeing’s defense unit, which has the U.S. authorities as a single of its most important consumers, generated profits of $26.5 billion in 2021, overtaking its industrial plane organization.

Colbert, who now heads Boeing World-wide Solutions, will turn into president and chief executive officer of Boeing’s Protection, Room & Security company. The worldwide services device handles jet upkeep, maintenance and overhaul, knowledge analytics and pilot training.

Caret, who had taken around the protection and house function in 2016, will provide as executive vice president and senior adviser to Boeing Main Executive David Calhoun, right up until her retirement later this year.

The segment offers army aircraft and network and area units to shoppers about the world.

The enterprise named Stephanie Pope as president and CEO of Boeing Global Solutions, succeeding Colbert.
